Introduction
At The Kick-Ass Donkey Group Limited, we regularly research new trends in marketing. We believe it is essential to maintain awareness of what others are doing, saying and publishing. Here are a collection of our favourite speeches, keynotes and Ted Talks on marketing available for free online.
SCOTT STRATTEN | UN-MARKETING KEYNOTE
2016 PUBLIC RELATIONS SOCIETY OF AMERICA ANNUAL CONFERENCE.
Scott who is a real inspiration to us @kadgltd. Delivered an amazing Keynote speech about marketing and PR techniques. “The best thing for my brand are wants, needs and skill sets”.
JAMES VEITCH | MORE ADVENTURES IN REPLYING TO SPAM
James Veitch, a comedy genius has spent years doing the tireless, thankless work of replying to spam e-mailers. He returns to TED to tell the tale of yet another spam email adventure, this time with a vital lesson attached: How to annoy your way off any spammer’s mailing list. @kadgltd we have tried and tested James’ technique and can clarify “THIS ACTUALLY WORKS!” Not only does this work for e-mail but it works pretty fine on calls too.
GARY VAYNERCHUK | KEYNOTE HAMBURG 2017
GARY VAYNERCHUK KEYNOTE AT HAMBURG ON 3/3/2017 AT THE ONLINE MARKETING ROCKSTARS IN GERMANY.
Gary Vaynerchuk is a serial entrepreneur and the CEO and founder of VaynerMedia, a full-service digital agency servicing Fortune 500 clients across the company’s 5 locations. Gary is also a prolific public speaker, venture capitalist, 4-time New York Times Bestselling Author, and has been named to both Crain’s and Fortune’s 40 Under 40 lists. Although Gary’s language in this video isn’t exactly “child-friendly” he does make some excellent points. We have to agree with him with one thing. Facebook does appear to be a very cost effective marketing tool!
ETHAN DECKER | WHAT EVOLUTION TELLS US ABOUT ADVERTISING
TED TALKS NOVEMBER 2015
Advertising is the Dirty Profession, famous for snake oil salesmen and shysters, shilling things that nobody needs, creating this bankrupt consumerist culture, but what if I told you that you were unknowingly in advertising too? This is Ethan’s journey from human evolution and ecology into marketing. We have to agree with him on at least one point. Aesthetic design is extremely important in capturing and retaining attention. @kadgltd we aim to achieve a balance between functionality and aesthetics.
